Dec. 13

 Dec. 13
As we got off the plane in Ghana we were flooded with humidity, and the familiar Ghana scent. After ages we made it through baggage to discover one of our bags was left in London...because the plane was too full, which is why the flight was delayed 2 hours. Kwami, a friend of a friend met us at the airport to take us to stay at Stephens home.  As I walked out of the doors of the airport Sammy practically ran into me as he ran to hug me. He had been waiting since 7 to see us. His first comments were your husband is so tall, and that he almost wanted to cry because he didn't know where we could be, and he didn't know who to call. It was so good to see him, and I felt so grateful for friends here in Ghana who would do all of this for me. I forget sometimes how different time is here in Ghana.

Kwami had a car... The nicest I've ever been in while in Ghana. Ha ha I felt a little embarrassed. Stephens place is for volunteers to stay in so we had wifi, warm water in the shower, fan/cooler and our own bathroom. It was not at all what I was expecting. After 24 hours of flight and layovers it was amazing to lay out straight in a bed.
